Explaining a complicated product in ninety seconds

An animated explainer video for a B2B SaaS company — I wrote the script, storyboarded it, designed every frame, and directed an animator through production.

Why video

Difficult concepts are best explained in simple terms with visual support, and video is the format people most prefer for learning online. For a technical B2B product whose value is hard to describe in a sentence, ninety seconds of well-designed animation does work that a page of copy cannot.

What I did

I wrote the copy, storyboarded the piece, designed the frames, and worked with an animator through to a finished video. The design constraint in animation work is that every asset has to be built to move — a static illustration that looks good on a page will fall apart the moment it needs to transition, so the visual system has to be designed for motion from the first frame.

This page needs your detail

To finish this page I need: what the video was explaining, who it was for and where it was used (website, sales calls, trade shows, ads), the script's central idea or metaphor, how you worked with the animator, and any result — views, use in the sales process, or how it changed how the team explained the product.
